Every once in a while, a new band or musical artist comes around that I just fall in love with an immediately. After that, I need everything they’ve released — the most recent being the math rock band “Covet”.
I found a video of Genesis live at the Bataclan in 1973 posted on Reddit and I was intrigued by the clarity of the intro photo, so I decided to check it out. I was floored.
I have heard a lot of the early, Peter Gabriel-era Genesis before, but it never really clicked. Seeing the first video made it all click. With the Bataclan and this video at Shepperton, I finally realized how great Genesis was during there early, progressive years.
